POWER ON Insert an alkaline battery into the compartment. The pager will beep for four seconds. The pager is activated and into standby mode.
SET ALERTS There are three types of alerts: audible, vibrator, chirp. To choose an alert, press the pink button until you see “SET ALERT MODE” on the screen. Press the blue button to enter the alert mode selection. Press the pink button to set the alert mode you prefer. When you have chosen an alert mode, press the yellow button to accept this mode and return to standby mode.
POWER OFF Press the pink button until you see “TURN PAGER OFF” on the screen. Press the blue button to turn pager off. If you want to turn the pager back on, press the yellow button (see above “Power On”).
SETTING THE ALARM Press the pink button until you see “SET ALARM TIME?” on the screen. Press the blue button to enter the alarm setting screen. There are four different alarm times available. The digit that is flashing is the one that will advance to the proper time by pressing the pink button repeatedly. To move to the next digit, press the blue button. When all digits have been set, press the yellow button. When the alarm is enabled, a picture of a clock will be displayed on the standby screen.
SETTING THE ALERT TONES Press the pink button until you see “SET ALERTS TYPE?” on the screen. Press the blue button to enter the set alerts screen. Press the pink button to select one of five alerts sounds. When you have chosen the one you want, press the yellow button.
SETTING THE AUTOMATIC SWITCH Press the pink button until you see “SET PAGER AUTO?” on the screen. Press the blue button to enter the automatic switch screen. Press the pink button to enable this feature. Repeating the above will disable this feature.
SETTING THE AUTOMATIC POWER ON/OFF Press the pink button until you see “SET AUTO ON/OFF?” on the screen. Press the blue button to enter the on/off programming screen. The top time will turn the pager off, and the bottom time will turn the pager back on. To set these times, press the pink button repeatedly until you have the proper hour. Use the blue button to advance the cursor to the next position. When all times have been set, press the yellow button to return to the standby screen. Note that when the pager is “off”, it still receives pages, but does not sound an alert, so all pages will be waiting for you when you return to the pager.
SETTING THE REMINDER ON/OFF When unread messages exist, there is an envelope symbol in the lower right hand corner of the screen. You can select the “reminder on” mode to remind you to read the unread messages. Press the pink button until you see “REMINDER ON?” on the screen. Press the blue button to set and exit. The pager will alert you every five minutes until all unread messages are unread. To turn off this feature, repeat the above instructions.
SETTING THE TIME AND DATE Press the pink button until you see “SET TIME & DATE?” on the screen. Press the blue button to enter the set time and date screen. The hour will flash. Advance the hour by repeatedly pressing the pink button. Use the blue button to move the cursor ahead one position. To set time in 12 hour format, make sure “1” is displayed in last cursor position on the top row. To set time in the 24 hour format, make sure “2” is displayed in this position. Continue setting each cursor position to the correct date, time, and day of the week. When all is correct, press the yellow button to return to the standby screen.
SET MESSAGE READING MODE The pager has an adjustable scrolling speed. Press the pink button until you see “SET READ MODE?” on the screen. Press the blue button to enter this area. Press the pink button to scroll through the four choices: Scroll 1=slow; Scroll 2=medium; Scroll 3=fast; and Line-by-line. When your choice is displayed on the screen, press the yellow button to return to the standby screen.
MESSAGE READING When a message is received, the pager sounds an alert if in audible mode, or vibrates if in silent mode. Press the yellow button. The screen will display which message slot it is in, the time received, and the message. The message will stay in the pager until it is erased.
LOCKING/PROTECTING A PAGE If there is a page that you want to lock into the pager to prevent accidental erasure, make sure you are viewing that page, and then press the pink button until you see “LOCK PAGE?” on the screen. Press the blue button to lock the page. The message arrow will turn into a lock symbol. Up to 12 messages can be locked. If you try to lock the 13th message, “LOCK OVERBRIM” will display indicating that no more messages can be locked.
UNLOCKING/UNPROTECTING A PAGE To remove the lock from a page, make sure you are viewing that page, and press the pink button until you see “UNLOCK PAGE?” on the screen. Press the blue button to unlock the page. It can now be deleted.
MEMORY ERASE/DELETE ALL PAGES To erase all pages, except those that have been locked/protected; press the pink button until you see “ERASE ALL PAGES?” on the screen. Press the blue button to erase all pages.
ERASE/DELETE ONE PAGE To delete a single page, make sure that you are viewing that page. Press the pink button until you see “ERASE PAGE?” on the screen. Press the blue button to erase the page.
DUPLICATE MESSAGE If the same message is received more than once, “RP” appears at the beginning of your new message to indicate that your message has already been received. Your new message will contain the latest time stamp.
LOW BATTERY ALARM When the battery needs to be replaced, the screen will display a picture of a battery and will alert you with an audible tone. Press any button to stop the beeping and replace with a new alkaline AAA battery within one minute to save your messages and function settings. It is important that you use an alkaline battery to ensure your pager functions properly.
BACK LIGHT To turn the back light on, press the blue button while viewing the standby screen. The light will stay on and turn off automatically a few seconds later. To turn on the light while on any other screen than the standby screen, press and hold the yellow button for two seconds.
OUT OF RANGE INDICATOR When the pager is out of range of the transmitter area continuously for about ten minutes, the screen displays the “OUT OF RANGE” message with an alert tone to let you know that you are out of range and unable to receive pages. |
