TO TURN THE PAGER OFF
Press and hold the button until “OFF” is displayed, then release the button. Messages that have been read are automatically erased when the pager is turned off.

CHANGING THE PAGER ALERT
Press and hold the button until your choice of “SILENT” or “AUDIBLE” is displayed. When in Audible mode, you hear a beep tone when a message is received.  The speaker symbol is displayed. When in the Silent mode, the pager vibrates when a message is received.  Use the silent mode in situations where an audible sound might disturb others.

RECEIVING AND READING MESSAGES
When a pager is received, the pager alerts for 8 seconds.

n    Press and release the button to stop the alert.

n    Press and release the button again to display the message.

Messages that contain more than 12 characters continue on a second screen.  This is indicated by a continuation arrow (>) in the lower right corner of the display.

The second screen displays automatically after 8 seconds or by pressing the button.

If the message is left unread, the pager emits a reminder alert every 2 minutes.

The number of unread messages are indicated on the display (e.g. “1 PAGE”).

Up to ten 20 character messages can be stored in the pager.  To read other messages, continue pressing the button to scroll through the messages.

DELETING MESSAGES
Read messages are automatically deleted when the pager is turned off.

FEATURES

“OVERFLOW” is displayed when there are too many unread messages in memory.  If this happens, an incoming message “bumps” the first message (read or unread) out of memory.  After scrolling through all of your messages, the standby screen is displayed.

The “DUPLICATE” message indicator (symbol looks like an envelope) is displayed in the upper-right corner if the same message is received more than once.

“TONE ONLY” is displayed when a message is received without numeric data.

If your pager has the “OUT OF RANGE” feature, the display (symbol looks like an antenna) is displayed in the upper-left corner if the pager goes out of the coverage area.  As long as this symbol is displayed, you are not able to receive any messages.

BATTERIES
Two AAA batteries are required for operation.  The Renegade pager has a built-in low battery detector.  A low battery alert and warning display (“LOW CELL”) occurs approximately one week before the end of battery life.  Batteries last approximately 850 to 950 hours of continuous use.  Turn the pager “OFF” when not in use to conserve battery life.

BATTERY INSTALLATION
Unlock the battery compartment door.  Firmly slide the battery door off the back of the Renegade pager and install two AAA alkaline batteries.  Match the “+” on the batteries with the “+” markings inside the pager.  Close the battery door.

NOTE:  Changing batteries resets pager memory.  Please read all messages before removing the batteries.
