The PMR Alphanumeric Pager
FEATURES LCD Display: This pager can display up to 32 character at a time. Backlighted Display: Pressing the LIGHT button on the side of the pager will illuminate the message when in the dark or low lit conditions. Escalert: Data and tone-only alerts start at the softest volume level and increase to the maximum volume level, or until stopped by pressing the reset button located on the side of the pager. Priority Excalert: this audible alert consists of a series of rapidly interrupted tones that start at the softest volume level and increases to the maximum volume level, or until stopped by pressing the reset button. This tone is used to announce reception of “special” messages and/or to override the pager’s silent mode, or vibrator operation. Full Memory Alert: If there are 16 messages in memory, an incoming message could cause the earliest unlocked message to be “bumped” from the pager’s memory. An interrupted single-beep tone and a “memory full” warning on the display alerts you that a message may be “bumped” out of memory by a new incoming message. Low Battery Alert: When the battery is low, a low-battery will be displayed in the lower left corner of the screen and an alert will sound to inform you that you must replace the battery as soon as possible. Unread Message Display: Any message which has not been read will flash on the screen. Also, if the display blanks with unread messages, the ON annunciator in the upper left corner of the screen will flash
BATTERY INSTALLATION Locate the back cover latch on the rear of the pager. Press down on the black button and slide the back to the left until the battery is exposed. Insert the battery as shown on the diagram and close the back cover. The pager will automatically turn on until you press the ON/OFF button.
OPERATING CONTROLS OFF/ON: Pressing this button (located on the front of the pager) turns on the pager and causes a power-up alert tone to sound. At the end of the power-up alert sound, the display will read “NO MESSAGES” . Your pager is ready to receive pages. To turn off the pager, the button must be pressed twice. WARNING: TURNING OFF THE PAGER CLEARS THE MEMORY. IF ANY UNREAD MESSAGES EXIST, THEY WILL BE LOST. Volume: This button sets the audio and the alert tone levels of a voice message, and sets the audio feedback tone when the RESET/LISTEN button is pressed. When the volume level reaches zero, “SILENT:0” is displayed and the speaker annunciator disappears, indicating the silent mode. Light: The light button turns on the display backlight. READ/CURSOR: This dual function button “opens” a message to be read and also moves the cursor to the other messages in the pager memory. When messages are in the pager, the cursor position is indicated by a vertical arrow. The cursor can be moved to other messages by continuing to press the READ button. Hold: This button is used when a message is being read to “freeze” a particular line on the display. Shift: For Enhanced and Mail Drop models, this button provides the enhanced features of the pager. Pager lock and delete. Once the shift button is pressed the lock and delete functions can be performed. Lock: Using this feature enables the user to lock important messages to prevent it from being overwritten in a memory-full condition. To lock a message, position the cursor on the message to be locked, press the shift button once, then press the lock button. Delete: Using this feature enables the user to delete unwanted messages. To delete a message, position the cursor at the message to be deleted. Press the shift button once, then press the delete button. A delete? prompt will appear on the bottom of the screen. Press the delete button again to clear the message. |
