The Angel Platinum Alphanumeric Pager

INSERTING/CHANGING A BATTERY
Making sure the pager is off, release the battery door lock. Open the battery door and insert the battery as shown on the diagram. Close the battery door, and lock it.  The messages will be kept for an hour when the battery is removed.


OPERATING THE PAGER

Use the select button  to cycle through the four main menus:  

  1. The greeting menu which appears upon power up, the top line of which prints the   name of the paging service provider while the bottom line prints the current time and date.
  2. The public message menu
  3. The public message menu
  4. The utilities menu

PRIVATE MESSAGE
Press the READ button  while at the greeting menu.  The first message appears is the most recent message received. Press READ again to read the whole message and other earlier messages. You may also use the LEFT and RIGHT button  to navigate through the messages. At the end of every message the receiving time and date are shown.  To save memory, messages that are repeated, will store as one message.

PROTECTING/ DELETING MESSAGES 
Messages can be deleted to free the memory they occupy.  Important messages can be protected to avoid accidental deletion.  To protect a message, use the READ LEFT or RIGHT button  to locate the message to be protected/ deleted and press the SELECT button .  Three options are available. 1) to protect 2) to delete 3) to delete all messages.  Use the LEFT/RIGHT button  to choose an option and then the READ key to confirm or the SELECT button  to exit without choosing any option.  When the dangerous DELETE ALL option is chosen the user will be asked to confirm again. When a message is protected, it will be placed at the end of the message queue for ease of searching  and it may be unprotected by first locating the message and then pressing the SELECT and READ button. When a message is unprotected, it will be placed at the front of protected message.

BACKLIGHT  DISPLAY
The pager provides a backlight for reading messages in the dark. At any screen when the pager is on, hold the SELECT button for two seconds. This will turn on the light.  The light will remain on until no key is pressed for a while.  The user can turn off the backlight by holding the SELECT button for another two seconds.

NEW & UNREAD MESSAGES
A message is considered unread if the user does not press any button when the page is received.  When a page is received,  the message is displayed and an alert sounds.  The alert can be stopped by pressing any button.

POWER  MANAGEMENT
To save power, the LCD screen will be powered off automatically if the pager does not detect key activities for about 20 seconds. In this power saving mode the pager is still able to receive messages as usual. If a new message arrives, the screen will be turned on automatically and the message will be displayed. The user may also turn on the screen by pressing any button .

READING MESSAGES
Press the SELECT button while at the greeting menu to go to the message menu and then use the LEFT/RIGHT button to choose the expected item, press the READ button at last.  Press READ again to read the whole message and other messages down.  The user may also use the LEFT/RIGHT button to scroll through other messages.

SETTING THE TIME CLOCK 
Use the SELECT button to go to the utilities menu and then choose the clock option using the LEFT/RIGHT and then the READ button. The user may change the  hour, minute, time format or month, day and year in sequence. Use the RIGHT key to increase the fields and the LEFT key to decrease. READ button to scroll through the various fields and exit without change by pressing SELECT.

CHOOSING AUDIO/VIBRATE MODE 
Use the SELECT button to go to the utilities menu and then choose the alert option using LEFT/RIGHT and then READ to toggle between the audio and vibrate mode.

SETTING THE ALARM
Use the SELECT button to go to the utilities menu and then choose the alarm option using the LEFT/RIGHT and then the READ button. The user may change the alarm on/off, hour, minute and time format. Use the RIGHT button to increase the field and the LEFT button to decrease. Use the READ button the scroll through the various fields and exit without change by pressing SELECT. When the alarm is activated a bell icon will appear at the bottom right corner of the greeting screen.

ADJUSTING THE LCD DISPLAY
Use the SELECT button to go to the utilities menu and then choose the contrast option using the LEFT/RIGHT and then the READ button. Adjust to the desired contrast using the LEFT/RIGHT button and complete by pressing READ.

TURNING THE PAGER OFF
Use the SELECT button to go to the utilities menu and then choose the power-off option using the LEFT/RIGHT button and then confirm by pressing the READ button.  Unlike the power-saving mode the pager will not receive any message when it is switched off this way. Press the READ button for one second to turn on the pager again.
