Our Sudbury and North Bay paging terminals have been networked together. This
means that when somebody sends a page out to you, it will reach you whether you
are in Massey, Espanola, Whitefish, Levack, Sudbury Verner, Sturgeon Falls,
North Bay, Temiscaming, Mattawa or Sundridge. It’s a local call! No long
distance!
Plans are under way and soon our Timmins terminal will become part of the same
network Northern Communications offers you the widest area regional coverage
available! No other local company national carrier, or international carrier can
compete with us in the north. See the map on the back of this newsletter for our
detailed coverage. If you are interested in having your pager networked, please
call or drop in to your local Northern Communications office. We can network you
to Toronto if you require it.
Transmitter Upgrades Approved And Ordered
Our service is only as good as our physical system (towers and transmitters),
and we are pleased to announce above average upgrades this year. It has taken
Northern over 35 years to build the paging networks we now enjoy Every year we
improve and upgrade portions of the system. This is necessary to ensure quality
and reliability This year we have planned an aggressive upgrade to coincide with
our networking announcements as well as the expanded coverage announcement that
follows.
Expanded Coverage Planned In Sudbury And Timmins
An additional tower site and expanded coverage are planned for the Timmins area
within the next quarter. Our clients will enjoy the widest coverage available in
the Timmins market (as well as the option to receive pages in the North Bay and
Sudbury regions). An additional tower site and expanded coverage are planned for
the Sudbury area within the next six months. We are currently polling clients as
to their preferred expansion direction. Many have suggested the French River
area, while many others have suggested Manitoulin Island, We would love to hear
from you with your opinion.
