Second Line Rings With No Answer! If you have two or more incoming lines and we answer for you, you may have a problem you do not know about. When a caller dials your number, it rings at both your location and our message center. We then answer the line for you when you have instructed us to do so. If a second caller calls, when we are on the line, it rings in on your second line. This rings in your office and if you were answering your own lines, you would simply pick it up. We, on the other hand do not have this line or any other equivalent lines connected to us and it would continue to ring. Your frustrated caller may call back, but not likely, or, would inform you that they called your place of business and no one answered. To avoid this we recommend call forwarding. When you call forward your first line to us, the second caller will always get a busy signal which will alert him to the fact that yes, there is someone there, and if they call back they will get an answer. Please call us to discuss this method in more detail. It can avoid the unanswered calls and actually save you some telephone company charges.
Help Us Help YouWe are in business to help you serve your clients. The information you give us to place in your file is critical to this role. Nothing is constant in this world, so in order to make certain we present a professional image to your client base, let us know whenever any changes take place. Some common examples are: • the names of new employees and when to remove old employees names from your file. • when an employee name changes (marriage) • when after hour phone numbers change • when office hours change (permanently or just seasonal) • when long week-ends are discretionary as to whether you take the Monday or the Friday.

Dear Mrs. Majnarich, I would like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU for your professional pleasant and prompt service that your company has given me and my assistant over the years. As you are aware I have been with your firm for a number of years now and I can’t imagine achieving my goals without my pager. I realize that cellular phones have become a common means of communication however, my pager remains my #1 TOOL. The fact that I can read a message and screen my calls especially during a primary meeting insures that confidentiality is maintained. Please give yourself and your personnel a pat on the back for the wonderful service you provide. THANK YOU! Sincerely, Carroll Percy Plourde
Some Needed ClarificationNorthern Communications is in the TAS (telephone answering service) and paging business. We also own and operate True Steel Security, a residential and commercial alarm system company. Some of our client base do business in both areas with us. Often times I speak to people who believe that the telephone answering service operators are the same people who dispatch the proper authorities for incoming alarm signals. This is not the case. Our TAS operation is separate and distinct from the alarm monitoring station. It has to be. Although there is definitely some crossover in skill sets required to do both jobs, there are some fine details that differ and in order to deliver services professionally and consistently they need to be separate. Some small TAS and alarm monitoring companies do combine the two, but that usually is because they have not yet reached a size where economies of scale allow them to set up a focused operation for both. Our specialized TAS operators handle telephone message services as they should be handled, and our monitoring station dispatchers work across town in a special ULC licensed monitoring station, giving alarm signals the attention they deserve.
Congratulations Kelly! (one of our call center operators). Another fine lady taken off the eligible list. The bachelors are all in mourning. |
