Northern
Communications Wins The Tom Ryan Award
The
Tom Ryan Award for Ethics, Integrity
and Quality Above All was created by the Ryan family in memory of Tom Ryan. Tom
Ryan was a pioneer in the message service industry and was instrumental in
opening the industry in Canada. The Tom Ryan Award is a Canadian national award
intended to recognize industry leaders in the answering service and contact
management industry whose companies are founded on the principles of quality
service delivery ethical business practices, commitment to the business and
industry communities.
Companies were judged on their
ongoing commitment to the delivery of quality service without sacrificing the
working environment, their ongoing customer service initiatives both internal
and external and on the company’s involvement in their industry and community
initiatives.
In this, its inaugural year, Northern Communications was
selected as the winner among 75 other highly competent messaging industry
businesses from across the country We are extremely proud of our employees and
of the company as a whole. Our constant drive to provide exceptional service has
been rewarded by having been acknowledged as a company that provides services
that are head and shoulders above most in the industry. This is a testament to
the quality of our employees and to the effort that we have all put forth to
serve our clientele at the highest possible level for many years.

Win Cam-X Award of Excellence
The Canadian Association of Message Exchanges
(CAM-X) is a national organization that is continually striving to improve the
level of service its members deliver to you, the clients. Every year, CAM-X make
numerous anonymous calls to participating call centres and evaluates the service
provided against a strict set of guidelines. The Award of Excellence is then
awarded to companies that meet and exceed the established guidelines.
We are excited and honoured to announce that all three of our branches, Sudbury
North Bay and Timmins, won the award this year. For Timmins, this is the sixth
consecutive year that they have achieved this distinguished honour.

911 Update
In our last newsletter, we
announced that we had recently signed a contract to answer 911 calls for over 1
million Ontario residents. This new venture has resulted in the hiring of
several new employees. It has also given some of our existing employees the
opportunity to diversify their experience by being cross-trained to perform 911
duties as well as their current responsibilities. The entire process has been
great for Northern Communications and we have performed exceptionally. We answer
thousands of calls and, to date, over 99.7% of them have been answered on the
first ring. Now that’s performance!
We are now pursuing further 911
contracts and with the results we’ve achieved, communities will surely want
Northern Communications to be their 911 provider. See
