The Bravo Alphanumeric
TURNING YOUR PAGER ON AND OFF To turn the pager on, the button is slid to the middle (silent) or top (audible) position, depending on the type of alert you choose to have at the time. The pager tests itself, and the screen will go blank within six seconds, except for a symbol in the corner signifying the alert mode (a speaker symbol for audible mode, a speaker symbol with a line through it for silent mode). To turn the pager off, slide the button to the bottom position. The screen goes blank. It is a good idea to turn the pager off when it is not needed, as this will greatly improve battery life.
RECEIVING A PAGE When a page is received by the pager, it will alert you with either a 12 second audible beep (if in audible mode), or a 12 second vibration (if in silent mode). Press either the READ button (p) or the ADVANCE button (t) to stop the alert. Unread messages are indicated by flashing symbols. The full arrow designates the active memory slot. Once the alert has been stopped, press the READ button (p) to display the message that is in the memory slot with the full arrow. The pager will automatically scroll through the message. To manually scroll through the message, press the READ button (p) again to hold each screen, and again to advance to the next screen of the message. When additional messages are received, the flashing full arrow will point to the memory slot of the most recent message. You can advance to the other memory slots by pressing the ADVANCE button (t). While reading a message, you can preview the first line of the additional messages in memory by pressing the ADVANCE button (t). The first line of each message will be preceded by a number and a colon (1: to 16) to indicate the memory slot for that message. Messages will time out and the screen will blank after six seconds. If the screen is blanked, press any button to display the status screen.
FUNCTION BUTTON To delete a Message: Press the FUNCTION button (n) twice. DELETE will appear on the screen. NOTE: If the message has been locked, DELETE will not appear; a locked message cannot be deleted. You will be prompted to unlock the message first. Press the ADVANCE button (t) to delete the desired message.

FEATURES Out of Range: When the pager has been out of range of a transmitter continuously for approximately six minutes, the display will show an OUT OF RANGE message (a row of symbols that look like transmitting towers). As soon as the pager is back in range, the display will return to the standard standby screen. Memory Full: If there are 16 messages, or more than 1984 characters, contained in memory, and incoming message could cause the earliest unlocked message to be dropped from the pager’s memory. A “MEMORY FULL” warning on the display alerts you that a message may be pushed out of memory by a new incoming page. Tone Only: The message TONE ONLY is displayed when a message is received without data. It is usually an indication of a call to the pager where the caller simply hangs up without sending data. Low Battery: When the pager is turned on and detects a low battery, a four-second LOW BATTERY alert and display will occur after the power-up alert. If the pager is already on when it detects a low battery, it will audibly alert and display the LOW BATTERY screen.
BATTERY INFORMATION Battery Installation:
2. Slide the lock up, toward the display. 3. Press on the ribbed-circle area of the battery door and slide the door in the direction of the arrow, allowing the door to lift open. NOTE: The door is not removable - do not try to detach it. 4. Insert the AA battery according to the polarity (+ and -) diagram on the back cover of the pager next to the door lock. 5. Press down on the ribbed circle until the door is flush with the housing. Slide the door to its fully closed position. 6. Slide the door lock toward the button of the pager to lock the door. IMPORTANT NOTE: All messages on the pager (both locked and unlocked) will be erased once the battery has been removed from the pager. Ensure you record any important messages before removing battery.
