The BeepMan, It's a pager and a radio!!
BATTERY The Beepman uses one AAA battery (alkaline batteries are recommended). Insert battery into compartment making sure you have the negative (-) end of the battery against the spring. When the battery is low, the pager will beep for four seconds and the low battery symbol will be displayed on the screen. Locked or unread messages will not be erased for a period of two minutes when you remove the battery to change it.
STANDBY/READY MODE When the battery is first inserted, the pager LCD screen will display a number of digits and then will stay on Standby/Ready mode. The pager will always return to Standby/Ready mode when you are no longer viewing messages or setting up special programming. It will display the time and show any icons for special features in use.
TO TURN THE PAGER ON Press the ² and G keys at the same time. The pager will turn on and switch to standby mode, and display the current time and date.
TO TURN THE PAGER OFF Press the ² and G keys at the same time. The pager will turn off and the display will show the current time and the word “OFF”.
TO SET DATE & TIME Press the ² key until you see the words “SET TIME”. Press the a key. The hours will flash. Press the ² key until you reach the desired hour. Press the a key to move to the seconds field. Press the ² key to set the desired seconds. Press the a key to move to the month field. Press the ² key until you reach the desired month. Press the a key to move to the date field. Press the ² key until you reach the desired date. Press the a key twice to set time.
TO SET THE ALARM There are three separate alarms you can set. Press the ² key until you see the words “SET ALARM”. Press the a key twice. The hour will flash. Press the ² key until you reach the desired hour. Press the a key. The minutes will flash. Press the ² key until you reach the desired minutes. Press the a key until “ON” or “OFF” flashes, toggling between the two with the ² key. Press the a key to move to the second alarm if you want to set it, and repeat above. To bypass setting the other two alarms, press the ² key twice to return to standby mode.
TO SET AUTO ON/OFF You can set the pager to turn on at a specific time and to turn off at a specific time. Press the ² key until you see the words “SET AUTO”. Press the a key. You will see the words “AUTO DISABLE “ or “AUTO ENABLE” on the screen. Press the ² key to toggle between these two options. To enable, when screen shows “AUTO ENABLE”, press the a key to set the “ON” time. The hours will flash. Press the ² key until you reach the desired hour. Press the a key to move to the minutes. Press the ² key until you reach the desired minutes. Press the a key to move to the “OFF” time - the hours will flash. Press the ² key until you reach the desired hour. Press the a key. The minutes will flash. Press the ² key to set the desired minutes. Press the a key to set.
SETTING THE ALERTS This pager is equipped with a choice of three different alerts - audio (beep), silent (vibration), and music. The music option comes with a choice of 15 different tunes. To set the alert, press the ² key until you see the words “SET MODE” in the screen. Press the a key. Press the ² key to toggle between audio, silent, and music. If you want silent or audio, press the a key to set when the display shows the chosen alert. To select music, press the a key when the screen shows “MUSIC”. Press the ² key to listen to the different tunes. Scroll through the tunes using this key. When you have chosen the tune you want, press the a key to set.
TO READ AN INCOMING MESSAGE When the pager alerts you of an incoming message, you can stop the alert by pressing the a button once. Pressing the a button a second time shows the message. Pressing the a button a third time shows the time of day the page was received, followed by the message slot it is in. Pressing the a button a fourth time returns the pager to standby mode. The message will remain in the pager until deleted. You can scroll through all messages in the pager by repeatedly pressing the a key.
TO DELETE ALL MESSAGES When there are pages in the pager you want to delete, press the ² key until you see the words “DELETE ALL”. Press the a key to delete all messages.
TO LOCK OR DELETE A SINGLE MESSAGE While the message is showing on the screen, press the ²key. This key toggles between a key symbol (lock) and a scissors symbol (delete). If it is on the key, the single message can be locked by pressing the a key. If it is on the scissors, the single message can be deleted by pressing the a key.
NOTEBOOK FUNCTION The notebook feature allows you to save number information for retrieval at anytime. It has two memory slots. To set up the notebook, press the ² button until you see the words “SET LC MSG” on the screen. Press the a key. Either a “1” or “2” will flash in the lower right hand corner of the screen, depending on which message slot is displayed. Toggle between the two message slots using the ² key. To select a message slot to set, press the a key. The cursor flashes over the first digit. Use the ² key to set the first digit. Press the a key to move to the second digit and repeat procedure to enter all digits desired. Press the ² key to set.
BACKLIGHT To activate the backlight for viewing the screen in low light conditions, press the G key. Note - the backlight will not work while the FM radio is playing.
TO LISTEN TO THE FM RADIO Plug the earphones (provided) into the jack on the side of the pager. This activates the radio. Press the ² to scan the available FM stations in your area. The pager will automatically tune to the available stations. The G key is the volume control. Pressing this key will toggle between low volume and high volume. Turn off the radio by unplugging the earphones. |
