Silent mode, or vibrate mode, is activated by pushing the function button until you see “TONE OFF?” on the screen.  Press the function button one more time to activate this mode.  A quiet “beep” will confirm this has been activated.  All pages coming in when this is activated will be silent, and the pager will only vibrate to alert you.  The display will show a small face with an “X” across the mouth.

SWITCHING TO AUDIBLE MODE

Audible mode, or beep mode, is activated by pushing the function button until you see “TONE ON?” on the screen.  Press the function button one more time to activate this mode.  A quiet “beep” will confirm this has been activated.  All pages coming in when this is activated will be announced by an audible beeping/tune.  The display will show either a speaker (for beeping) or a musical note (for a melody).

MELODY SET

When in the “audible/beep mode”, the pager has a choice of three different sounds.  To switch between these three sounds, press the function key until you see “TONE ON?” on the screen.  Press the read button three times until you see “MELODY SET” on the screen.  Press the function button and the selected melody will be played.  Press the read button to scroll through the three different tunes.  When you have selected the tune you wish to activate, press the function button to activate it.

READING AN INCOMING PAGE

This pager has 16 message slots and each message slot stores up to 20 digits.  When a message is received, the pager vibrates for six seconds (when in the silent mode) or beeps for 15 seconds (when in the audible mode).  You can press any button to stop the beeping or vibrating.  Press the read button to read the incoming message.  Pressing the read button a second time will show you which message slot is being used, and the time the message was received.  If you do not read an incoming message, the pager will alert you every 30 seconds of the unread message.;

You can lock a message to prevent it from accidentally being erased.  While the message is on the screen, press the function button twice.  A quiet “beep” and a small “lock” symbol on the screen will confirm that the message has been locked.  It can not be deleted until it has been unlocked.  To unlock it, follow the same procedures as locking it.  The symbol will disappear, and the message can be deleted now.

BATTERY INFORMATION

This pager is designed to operate on one AAA alkaline battery.  To install the battery, slide the locking tab to the unlocked position.  Remove the battery cover from the pager.  Remove the old battery and install a new battery by aligning the positive and negative ends of the battery with the picture of the battery inside the battery compartment.  The negative end of the battery should be resting against the spring.  Replace the battery cover and slide the locking tab to the locked position. When the pager’s battery needs to be changed, a display showing “LO BATT” will show on the screen.
